transfer case fluid

    I have an 84 what type of fluid does the transfer case take? Some told me automatic transmission fluid
    Just wanted to make sure...This is whats init now and it leakes...its brand new not rebuilt..has about
    5000 miles on it...Thanks

    Assuming you have the NP208 t-case, yes, it will require the Dexron ATF. If you have the NP205, then you will need 80-90 weight oil.
