Im looking to switch from a 203 to a 205 in my 79. It has a turbo 350 transmision. I have access to a 205 that was mated to a 4 speed. My 1st question is can the coupler be changed from an automatic model to make this 205 work?

My 2nd question will the coupler from a 203 automatic work on the 205 that was meant for straight drive?

I know I can take all this stuff apart and figure this out but I was hoping someone had already done this to save me alot of unescesary work.

Just as an aside, what's the reason for this swap? Is the 203 dead? If not, then going to the 205 won't net you much. Both cases are strong as pigs breath and low range is nearly identical between them. If you want to just get rid of full-time 4WD, then just install one of the conversion kits in the 203 and not have to hassle with driveline lengths, adapters, etc. [IMG]
