This may sound like a simple question for some, but I haven't been able to find any answers from my searches. I have an '89 Suburban with the TH400 trans and NP241 transfer case. I've already removed the engine, and I would like to know how I can remove the transmission from the transfer case. I know how to get the two out of the vehicle, but I don't know how to separate the transmission from the transfer case, and what problems I should look out for. Any assistance is appreciated!

Being that you have a 241 case if it is like my 208 there should be 6 bolts (I think) that hold the tcase to the tranny. You unbolt those 6 bolts and it should slip off.

you also need to disconnect the shifter linkage on the tcase. On my 208 it had a cotter pin that held the linkage on. Pop the linkage and pull the case.
