    Should there be any difference in the length of a 3 speed and a SM465 if they are both for 4x4? Just curious because I'm swapping out the 6 cylinder hopefully next week for the big block and the 3 speed trans gets kicked out of the way for a SM465 I found. If so, maybe the guy with the trans has the driveshafts to go with it

    Are you talking about a 3 speed auto like the TH350? The SM465 is much shorter than the TH350 - something like around 10" I want to say.
    That would be ideal if the guy with the tranny has the driveshafts too, but they'd have to be for a K5 with the same t-case.

    No 3 speed auto, I'm talking about a 3 speed manual compared to a 4 speed manual SM465

    What did GM offer for a 3 speed manual? I'm drawing a blank...not much of a manual tranny guru, sorry. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
