spring is here and i,m about ready to start working on my 71 k/5
the problem is sometime when i start the truck and put it in reverse
i need to give it gas to make it engage. this is a th-400 trans./400 sb/np 203
setup it also seems like it lacks the get up and go off the start but once its going it seems fine. i have a b&m quickshifter in it so i dont know if it needs a kickdown cable or not i dont have one hooked up ???

so i started looking around at the tranny and noticed it was leaking and the guy who had it before me put some sort of sealer where the transmission and the transfer case bolt together (see photo) is it cracked perhaps, i,m not sure i was going to take something and scape the sealer off to see whats there

please let me know what you think it could be or where to start
    thanks chris
