I have a question, I have a TH400/NP208 combo out of my old '86 K-20 Suburban, and a TH400/NP205 in my 87 K-30 pickup. The trans in my K-30 is about to go out, will the suburban's TH400 adapt to my NP205? Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks THIS SIDE UP off-road bigred86chevy@aol.com

From my experience of those years, the 205 and the 208 are both 32 spline inputs. If yours are, you should have no problem with swapping trans. When I last had my NV4500 out, I bolted up a 205 I bought to test fit it. I had no problems whatsoever. The 208 I now use behind the 4500 was originally behind a SM465 and is 32 spline, the same as the 205. Still considering installing the 205 after I get it rebuilt. Need to figure out shifter for it as 208 shifter is floor mounted and 205 is case mounted.

Thanks for the info, I was kinda worried. I wish I had the time to convert to twin stick, but I plan on tearing into it tonight to have it done by this weekend. We are expecting snow here in KC and I half to have my one ton ready. I cant live without it. Thanks again ThisSideUp off-road
