Can a 4L80 be put in a 85 GMC Jimmy, and some how work some how with out the "electronics" on it? I know this is sorta dumb sounding. But i was looking on Jaspers website, and when I put in the year of my truck which is an 85 by the way, the engine and others info, it say a 4L80.. Anyone have reason or is it just the same old catalog errors?

Are you sure it said 4L80 and not 4L60? Either way, the 4L60 is a 700R4. The electronic version is a 4L60E.
