    I have never seen that in person except from a Destroyer Escort. I can't imagine being close to it.

    Just never turn your back on an aircraft that is trapping. That way you'll at least have a chance if something ****s up:eek1:

    Smaller than an AIM-7 though. Not sure what kind

    man we had one of those(winder) stuck in our radome, yellow shirt spread the wings to soon, and taxied the 18 into our radome
    luckly it was blue.

    AFAIK we dont use AIM-7's anymore
    AIM-120's now

    pretty much the same size, but way better

    What would I know. I am Surface Combat Systems type. I know RIM-7's are still used.......NSSMS

    Yeah we still fly Sparrows. Usually at least one, one AMMRAM, two winders or 9 X's, and then various GBU's Mavericks and JDAM's Yeahh 2 or 3 of them baby's:D

    The first 2 pics - are they yours, or someone else's? If yours, did they come from the LSO platform? How'd you manage that one?!

    I see a possible 3-wire in the first pic, and a 2-wire in the second.

    Yeah the first couple are from the LSO platform. Our squadron Photographer took them i think, or one of the pilots. I took the ones from Vultures row:D

    i never worked on jets that carried cool missles
    all we got was the HARM



    speaking of, how bout some prowler shots, enough of the foo-foo 18's already huh?

    OK I think I have some. I know i have a prowler landing video. They spend a lot of cruise downstairs all torn apart:haha: :haha:
