Damn room smells like Hedgehog pee. Apparently the liner thing I have for her cage is NOT water tight. If it puddles for any time it leaks right through and gets into the carpet. I scrubbed the carpet with the only thing I have, some clorox kitchen cleaner. IT worked for the night but it smells again today. Air freshener can't overpower the smell. The liner is not in here and I scrubbed that thing too. Anyone?

Baking powder absorbs almost any smell. Just make a paste.
Where could my wife get one? She's from England and thought that would be kewl to have one as a pet.

Try sprinkling baking powder on the carpet, vacuum it up in a few days....you may have to do this several times

yeah pile on the bakeing powder to soak it up.

if the room really smells boil coffie grounds (instant gooks good too)
in a pot and it will rid the stink.

( my buddy who is a peramedic does that if they find a very dead body some where)

they aren't easy to find in the US, I will look around for any places in NC for you. They are illegal as pets in Pennsylvania, I'm just special, ha.

Ozone shock is quite amazing for eliminating urine smells. You can rent ozone generators from different places, the bigger the better. You simply set the machine to full blast, and leave it in the room for a day or two, with the room totally sealed off. You then run in there, open a couple windows etc, and stay out of there for a couple days. Ozone isn't quite so good for you.

PS -- Why are hedgehogs illegal down there? They are a common pet up here...

Well first wash your mouth out with hot water and vinegar..........

Just joking. I have 2 dogs and a cat and have found that the baking soda and the vinegar work pretty well. Also, if it's really bad you can rent one of those Rug Doctors at the Supermarket ($20) and buy the solution and it will get just about anything not oil based out in a few passes.

Nature's Miracle. Enzyme based, use enough of it and smell will be gone forever. Can get it online or thru shops like Petco.

I use Petzyeme (spelling is off) which is also an enzyme spray. Works well. The best stuff I have ever used is Capture. Spray on, spread some stuff and vaccum. Smell is gone. Get it at Lowes/Home Depot

I got some generic animal smell killer at the grocery store. Baking soda based, seems to have done the trick.
