    Just to restate them:

    Sine (angle) = Opposite/Hypotenuse
    Cosine (angle) = Adjacent/Hypotenuse
    Tanget (angle) = Opposite/Adjacent

Knowing the formula's and understanding what they mean are different things. Took me a long time to understand them and I still have to refresh myself now and again. I took 3 semesters of Calculus and haven't had much use for it since. Never had to use any of the exotic Trig formulas.

What part is not making sense?

Same here. The best thing I came away with from calculus was the understanding that you need to look at every problem from as many different angles (not trig angles  ) as possible. Every situation has multiple solutions.

This has always helped me remember: SohCaToa (so-ka-toa)

    S(opposite/hypotenuse)C(adjacent/hypotenuse)T(opposite/adjacent)

Hope you get it, as I am horrible at explaining things. I find it an easy way to remember!
