I used a cut off wheel on my grinder and it worked great. I've also seen an air nibbler used but it was more difficult to keep a straight line.

They sell thin cut off disc's for grinder that work real well. I used a 3/32" thick "Zip-cut" disc on a 4 1/2" grinder to do mine.

I just got a new recipro saw and some milwakee "torch" metal cutting blades. I am ready to chop my fenders...as soon as I get done with some other mods anyway. ;)
