Well they broke into my blazer again. They opened everything up and left the door wide open. My neighbor came by this morning about 7 to let me know. I checked it out, they opened the ash tray and glove box and center console. But again they left the radio??

They dont bother with my wifes car or my Crewcab or SS. This is twice now in 2 weeks. im going to fill out another online police report, wish there were more I could do.
I was thinking neighborhood watch but we already are a pretty tight block and look out for one another but everyone has to sleep sooner or later.

I have been thinking of putting something that put off a glow like some sort of cheap electronic device. Then just hide in a dark corner and wait. I dont plan on rushing anybody but I can at least get a description of the person and 911 it in.

Sorry for the long story but im frustrated

It's probably just an easy target with a low likely hood of having an alarm. Get an alarm on it that will wake you up from a dead sleep in your house. If you want the best chance of catching them get an alarm that only makes noise on your keychain so you can call the cops first or at least get out there with a camera before they run.

I noticed Sam's Club had some cheap surveillance video cameras. Hook to your VCR or DVDR and watch the show!

Good luck, and good call on not trying to apprehend the perpetrator yourself, it's not worth it. Just my .02$

It is when the're smaller than you and suck at fighting.

"No, officer, I have absolutly no idea why his arm is broken in two places .... perhaps he hit it on the truck or ground during the struggle"

Ya I Would love to catch the guy in the act.
Neighbor from the other side of my house came by to tell me when he left for work at 6am, my door was wide open. They took stuff from his pickup as well. It's gotta be some friggin tweaker.

oh I GOT ONE FOR YOU.

    (damn caps)

go to a surplus store and grab the biggest capasitor they got,

Wire a cord end on it, something that looks like it is from a power tool.

plug it into the wall, to charge it. then stash it between the seats, with the cord sticking up.

z3pr I mean the random tweeker will see the cord think its a tool, and grab at the end. No alarm needed, the scream and posably thud of him hitting the ground will wake you up.

(waiting for the people who think this is a horably bad idea)

maybe, they stole the sirius reciever last time. Napa isnt by any means the crime central of america, but I live on a street that connects 2 somewhat major streets so there is alot of foot traffic.

This is a horribly bad idea. There are two serious flaws:
    1. It has to be charged with DC current.
    2. You forgot to mention - "make sure you remove it before calling 911".

    Rookie mistakes.

"No officer, I don't know how his hand blew up and he pissed himself. Must be a tweaker thing."

I was gonna say the same thing as DarkShadow, except I was going to recommend electrifying the whole truck.

I have video survellience on both my vehicles, and had a camera directly on my bike where it was parked while we were away last week. I got two $20 cameras and a $15 DVR card through ebay, and set it up on a server in the house. I was down in Florida checking on things at the house in NY. It worked out really good when we were driving home and I saw the dog get out and a neighbor bring her back.

See if you can rig something up temporary at least. Get a wireless camera and mount it in the truck, tapped off the trucks power, with the receiver in your house on your VCR. Just be ready for a weak battery if you leave it like that for a day.

    now that is COOL!!!!

sure beats coming back to a busted in house and hoping a week later the cops can do somthing, checking it out online, that is SMART!

what does meath look like, leave a baggy of whatever on the seat, triggering a booby trap of some sort. ( I vote for giant catupolt)
