With my truck being down since mid July I've had to resort to one of these to get my wheelin fix...

Wayyyy too much fun. Had to get rid of the funky orange body with smurf blue cage right away. Who else has a Wally crawler? I got this one off of eBay for $100 to my door, and have heard them going for as little as $50 on clearance at Wal-Marts recently.

    Already considering some mods...:doah: :haha:

We've got 3 of the Scorpion models. One for me and one for each of the kids. Low range crawling is freakin' amazing! But I'm pretty disapponted with the high range power. They can barely roll through the lawn in high range. Put 'em in low range though and they'll climb like a mountain goat! :cool1:

Got 'em on clearance at Wally World a few months ago for $50 each, marked down from $150 each. :thumb:

That's weird, mine rolls through the grass in high with no problems. There are 4 'generations' of crawlers with various changes made. The later generations run less drive belt tension to prevent breakage, so perhaps yours are all 4th Gen and in the grass the belts are slipping some? I do know mine is a Gen 2...

Mine just seem to stall the motors on the slightest incline when in high range and in grass. Low range is downright fun though! :cool1: (Though it is SLOW)

I just couldn't leave mine alone...just did a 'tummy tuck' on it. Have 4 1/2" underbelly clearance now and don't get high centered near as often. Low range is definitely fun. The other thing I like is it seems like the battery lasts forever before needing a charge. I'm still on my first charge and I swear I have over 2 hours of run time on it.

Once I finish moving into the new shack and have my own computer back, I've got a site bookmarked that has tons of mods for these things. Some folks really go hog wild with 'em! And indeed, the battery lasts a VERY long time between charges. My sons NiCad powered stuff runs for about 15 minutes and then it's done. The lead/gel battery in these babies stores some serious energy! Can't wait to get ours out of storage so that we can play with them again. :)
