Truck won\'t fit in garage? Check this out !

Well I had to stuff the Burb in the garage one more time so I could do the tranny. The military frowns on tranny swaps in driveways! The question is: How to get a 88 Burb in a garage with an 8ft. door, when the Burb is wearing 38's and has a 12" lift? Solution is: (1)take the light bar off the roof (2)takes the 38's off and put on my set of 245x85x16.5 tires and air them down quite a bit. (3) Back it in very slow(at an idle). Last time I aired the tires way down and one popped a bead loose, so I watched it this time. I would guess that there is about 1/2" to 1" room left before I take out the lights in the garage. It pays to buy, steal, aquire an extra set of stock wheels and tires. Check out the picture!

    There it is!

That funny to see such a burley truck with such pinner tires.
Post some picks when you throw on the 38's again.

That's what the monster trucks look like when they take them out of the trailers before they put those huge tires on. Looks funny!

Yeah I'd just go ahead and through thoughs 38's away and stick with the smaller tires they are much cooler!!! You should drive it around town like that.

Hehehehe!! That thing looks funny on those pizza cutters!!! My wife is pissed at me right now, cause her '90 6" lifted Sub is riding on 235x85s right now, cause I'm using her 35" BFGs on my '60 Sub till I can buy some 35s. Picture having to DRIVE AROUND with 235s!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! (No wonder I'm not "getting any" lately!!!) hehehehe!!! Your rig sure looks like its got more than 12" of lift!!! I have the same rig, red Sub lifted 12"....course, if I put on pizza cutters it may look the same!! What kind of fender cutouts are those in front? I need some, as my 39.5" Swampers rub the corners of mine.

LOL! Thats like Stone Cold Steve Austin in a skirt and makeup! Doesn't look too tough with them tiny tires. Could you drive around with those on there? Think of going mudding in those! I bet you would get better gas mileage.

Beware of truck mojo. If anyone see's it like that, it may get even with you by not starting next time you try to go play. Mine seems to do that sometimes.

I have a buddy that has a Z71 with 9" of lift and 38" TSXs. He also has stock gears and tows a trailer about once a month for 500 miles +. So he throws the stock tires back on there and goes. Funny looking truck and maybe even a little dangerous pulling a carhauler with all that lift and little tires. Actually BigBurb, in my part of the country that truck may even look at home like that if only it had a chain steering wheel, some daytons, and curb feelers. A good set of hydros wouldn't hurt either [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Damn. And they say Troopers are a rollover hazzard. I'd be afraid to take a corner over 2 mph in that. lol

  16. New Fad for lifted trucks

Hey Steve I think we have started a new fad for lifted trucks! Maybe we should get stockton wheels to make us a sets of really wild 33" to 44" wheels! Wouldn't have to worry about scarring up your side-walls! Or maybe we should take those really sool white wheels and buy that spray on chrome paint, yeah that's it !!

So, we all know you didnt have to jack up the rig to get to the tranny, how did you get a jack long enough to remove and reinstall the tranny! LOL I think I may order a 12" lift kit and some pizza cutters for my rig! [IMG]

  18. 12\" lift on tranny jack

I fabricated a 12" lift for my floor jack and a platform for the top of it that will hold a tranny or transfer. The first time I used a radio flyer wagon,rope,2x4's and a floor jack, along with some other creative nightmarish(unsafe) ideas!! This time will be much smoother.
