Check the battery guage on the dash. If its below 8 then its the battery. You are mostlikely going to have to get a new alternator. I foud out about this on Thanksgiving at 11:30 Pm. It sucks luckely your at home (I would amagin)

    Good luck, KEN

Check your ignition module, coil, and wires. Might be one of them.

you say you hear the starter motor running, is the starter engaging the flywheel and turning the engine over, if it's not it is the drive in the starter, get your starter rebuilt or get a new starter.if it is turning the engine over, check to be sure your getting gas to the carburetor and spark to the spark plugs, this will get you started as to why it isn't starting.

well you are going to have 1 of 2 problems; 1 - it isn't getting fuel (maybe water in the gas or something), or 2 - it isn't getting spark.

I recently had the same problem. I had just replaced my starter so I didnt think it was that but check it out first. I found the problem to be that my cap and rotor were burnt pretty bad and pieces of the metal plate that sit on the rotor had been torn off and missing. After I replaced those thing It satill didnt start so I replaced all of the spak plugs the old ones were fouled.

Does it have gas in it? [IMG]
Like wookie said. It either is not getting fuel or it aint getting spark. Those are the only 2 things that could cause you a problemo as far as starting goes, except that maybe thay aint getting spark and fuel at the same time! [IMG]

Well like every one else is saying....fuel or fire? I'd pull one of the spark plugs and put the wire back on it. Take the spark plug and lay the end against something with a good ground, like the manifold. DO NOT TOUCH IT after getting in position. Have a buddy go crank the motor over, now watch the plug. You should have a big fat blue flame jump the gap if you're getting fire.
