TRUCK\'S PULLIN ! SCAREY S#@$%T UPDATE,UPDATE

ok so im heading to the mountians to go deer huntin, yes brooklyn guys hunt. i noticed when i apply the brake at highway speeds she pulls to the right so bad that i have to compensate by turning the wheel to the leftand then when i let off the brake the truck will now shoot to the left really scary at 70mph.ps if i let go of the wheel the truck goes down the road straight as an arrow. so where do i start. ps i keep te hubs locked if that helps??????? thanks /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif--------- OK everything is fixed i needed 2 calipers the right side was binding so as i applied the brake it would grab the rotor first sending me in to the next lane, also chaged t pads, and both brake lines bendix)$$44.00 each /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gifOUCH and changed the gear oil in the rear i got about 500 miles on the rear and so far it's working out OK . so i'm off to the catskills tomorrow afternoon for 5 days to go shoot bambi with my bow /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifthanks to all who gave advice once again CK5 people give good advice as to what to look for. thank /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gifs jack

Sounds like the caliper is hanging up. My truck was doing that, take the caliper off and look for rough surfaces on the caliper and pads. Everthing has to be able to slide easily. Just use a flat file and smooth is out.

either a sticky caliper or a collapsed brake line is my bet... also put light lube on the guide pins while its apart.

Leaving the hubs locked puts extra wear on the carrier bearings, ring and pinion, front drive shaft , Tcase front yoke bearing the t case gears because your spinning the front shaft cause the hubs are locked .all of these are not normally spinning when the hubs are unlocked.

Loaded calipers are the calipers with pads /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

If all this doesn't cure it, check the rear, if there is a brake fluid leak you would have that.

I agree with BowtieBlazer on the collapsed brake lines. If you still have the stock rubber lines, they've been prone to swelling. Mine did the same thing a few years ago. I replaced the lines, bled them well, and it hasn't bothered me since.

Mine started to do this worse and worse and worse.

It turns out the U bolts on the spring packs worked their way loose.

Check your spring packs and all steering components.

    Good luck.

so wouldn't it be like the old hubs??? mine didn't come with manual- so I"d asume that those are causing excessive wear....I keep mine locked in 24/7/365.....

i dont by the excessive wear thing cause both wheels are spinning no matter what position the hubs are in. i can see 4wd and you have torq applied to both wheels like going around corners ao dry pavement?? just my opinion i really dont have much time off road and i'm still learning /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
