Since I was rear ended the only lights that still work on my truck are the head lights...[IMG] I haven't been driving it since but will need to again by Monday. I have no instrument lights on the dash, no turn signals brake or courtesy lights. The tail lights did not get smashed in the accident. Does anyone have a clue as to where to start looking for my wiring woes?

When you got rearended it probably pinched a wire and shorted them out. Look for the brown wire that is your running lights witch is your instrument panel also......

Hey Rene, bummer your having problems. It's usually easier to start at the source and work your way back. Fuseblock, into switch, out of switch, bulb. Don't overlook a bad ground connection, they can wreak all kinds of havoc. Of course drinking a beer while standing on your head will make it a lot more fun [IMG].

Blown a fuse somewhere, those lights are all on the same one, but obvoiusly something caused it, so go from the lights and trace the wires until you find whats wrong...shouldn't take too long, but probably will....

Well I just went through my fuse box (figured I'd start with the obvious) and found a fuse gone, replaced fuse and presto the lights work again...thanks

Here's a not so amusing addition to this afternoon. I finished checking the lights when I smelled burning wires...oh sh!t where's that coming from? Not my truck but the wifes 86 Mustang GT in the carport going up in flames...@*&*@# where's the hose!!!!!

We just got it back to fix up after some kid had it for 9 months and hit a pole with it. He had a big stereo at one time and had left the big power wire and the big ground wire under the drivers seat...bare ends and still connected to the battery!

The interior was the nice part of the car...I'm just glad I was outside working on my Jimmy and saw it quick before it took the house with it.

It has not been a good week...

Check your licens plate light. If that wire shorts out it will blow fuses and/or kill your dash lights and break lights.

When all else fails... Check the blinker fluid.

Well no sense crying about it...There is always something positive. 1) I was home...2) I was 10 feet away and the hose was already unrolled and on (I had just washed tRusty) 3)ok there is no 3...but still it could have been a lot worse!

    Total damage...carpet and one seat.

You should make that kid pay for the damage. Also, teach him about in-line fuses while you're at it.

I guess you don't have enough room on your driveway to have your own firetruck eh? Hope your luck gets better.
