I got my copies of TTC2002 last week (so much better than 2001) but anyway,
The guy who had the red one ton chevy, through the Tank Trap h would get stuck and while his co-drive was running the winch line, the propane engine would be reving, anyone know the reason for this?? Other than the sweat sound of a big block?

probably to keep his battery or batteries charged from the drain of the winch /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Based on the speed of the winch, I'm guessing it was a PTO-driven model....so revving the engine would increase the speed of the winch.

Yeah, those are both good, but the co-driver was just pulling the winch cable up the hill, there was no pull yet.

charging the battery so he would have max power for pulling since most things are timed?

I think it was because he might have sucked some water in the engine and the truck wouldnt idel. just my opinion. with the way the water was coming over the hood /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif I just figured that was the problem.

That was Corey (driver) and frenchie (spotter).
that was a SWEEEEEETTTTTTT!!!!!! truck it's not totaled due to a roll over in Canada but they are building another.
They were using a PTO winch but that wasn't why they were revving the motor. It was just to make sure that it didn't stall out while in deep wtaer and suck water up the tailpipe. That's all.
In my honest opinion they won the challange last year. Since it's supposed to be street legal vehicles they are the first to meet that criteria.

Exactly. I thought that was what the competition was based on. I also read that they were trying to get back to those roots. Have they succeeded?

I just assumed that the PTO winch doesn't free-spool very good so they would power it out...........
