Tuff Country \"EZ-Ride\" vs. explorer pro comp

The local tuff country dealer also suggested the explorer pro comp lift kit for the softest ride.

Is the "explorer pro comp" softer or as good as the "tuff country"? He says it is but he also has it in stock and would rather not order the tuff country. At least I think he does'nt want to.

Anmyways, anybody know which one is softest?

Pro-Comps flex like crap, the only springs that are much stiffer are Ranchos. The guy is trying to sell you what he has in stock... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I thought so. He also tried to influence me by telling me I would have to pay shipping for the tuff lift.

How does my current "Rough Contry" lift compare. It is stiff as hell /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for the info Shaggy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rough country is supposedly stiff as well, but I have no personal experience with them.

Like it says on the wonderful site we have here, Tuff Country E-Z rides are the softest springs. The Tuff Country HD is still softer than a lot of aftermarket springs. My Skyjacker rides pretty nice, it's just above the Tuff Country kit in stiffness. In my imagination, the TC EZ ride's will ride like a Cadillac. Go with them, but I've people complaining above leafs that aren't aligned in the pack and clamps being loose from the factory.

I wouldn't venture to say they ride like a cadillac, but, a HELL of alot better than other springs. I switched to 6" EZ rides from some 4" springs (not sure what brand) and I am sure its saved me plenty of back/head ache.

I HAVE EZ-RIDE SPRINGS ON MY 79 AND I THINK IT RIDES GREAT FOR A LIFTED VEHICLE. IT EVEN RIDES BETTER THAN IT DID IN STOCK FORM WITH THE NEW BUSHINGS AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

I tried to trade them with no luck. I guess I'll cut em up and toss em. I don't think they are worth shipping. I can buy 4" lifts here in AZ for about $100 used. Shipping *could* get close to that. After I pull em I'll put up an add to see if anybody wants them. I'll most likely put a price of $50 just to cover my time shipping them.
