I saw someone on Pirate posted this, and I was pretty amazed - not enough to be interested in either of the trucks, but amazed nonetheless.

I'm just trying to figure out how and why, 'cause it would seem that the outcome shoulda been different....

The Ford lost traction early, that was his problem. Once that happened it was all over. The second time he did it again, but this time due to wheel hop. If he were smart he would have dropped into Neutral as soon as that started. No pride match is worth ruining leaf springs or tearing a rear end out of a truck. I'd bet the Dodge has traction bars and a bit more power.

IMO with what I learn of Diesels, the fact that the Cummins rig one doesn't amaze me at all. My buddy and I toasted a Dodge SS/T the other night in his 05 Crew Cab long bed. Granted SS/Ts aren't blistering trucks I know the one we raced isn't stock, neither is my buddy's Cummins. Heck we just got done puting the new intercooler, charge tubes, and high ram on.

when you listen you can hear that the loosers truck lost traction by spinning it's wheels, when that happens the other truck which still has traction takes over and pulls him to the finish line. Experience counts on this one.

Always ease into it in a tug of war. Traction is THE big factory, Power second. My opinion anyway.

I can say it's more about technique than vehicle power.

LOL....no, man, I wasn't trying to be mean or nothing to ya.... Sorry 'bout that.

About the video, I would've figured that the bigger, heavier 7.3 would've done better. But, I guess technique is everything.

I saw a vid yesterday that was even more surpising. '04 or newer Hemi quad cab hooked to a Bronco II. Glad I didn't have money on the outcome of that one...that little BII dragged the big old Dodge like it wasn't there. :eek1:

I'll see if I can find the vid...
