    mostly "trucking" songs..

Most of the country songs are about 18 Wheelers.like....

"Eighteen Wheels And a Dozen Roses..Kathy Mattea

"East Bound And Down".. Jerry Reed (from "Smokey and the Bandit")

"Six Days On The Road"... Dave Dudley

    "Tombstone Every Mile"... Dick Curliss

"On The Road Again" ...Willie Nelson

"I'm Looking At The World Thru A Windsheild"...Del Reeves

    "Hello--I'm A Truck"..I forget who sings that one,its a good tune!..

    "Phantom 309"... Red Sovine...

    "Giddie-Up-Go" Red Sovine

    "Teddy Bear"..Red Sovine..

    "Roll On".. Alabama

    "Prisoner Of The Highway"....Ronnie Milsap

"Convoy"....what was that guys name??--it escapes me right now...

"One Peice At A Time"--- Johnny Cash!! :D

A few newer songs like "Hicktown" have references to 4x4s in the song and the video... the song "Boondocks" by Little Big Town too..and Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman",and "All Jacked Up" have chevy 4x4s getting a beating in the video's too.. :D
Can't say I know any songs about off-roading--if I do,I can't think of any right now...a few mention beat up chevy trucks though, like Trisha Yearwoods "She's In Love With The Boy"....

    I remember now...

Soon as I hit the "submit" button I remebered C.W. Mcall did "Convoy"..

There is also "Pickup Man" by Joe Diffy...a few lines go--"every saturday night,I can be found--In the bed of my truck in an old chaise lounge!..
It has an 8 foot bed that never needs to be made"..
"the cargo light gives off a romantic glow"..
"You can set my truck on fire--and roll it down a hill!--but I still wouldn't trade it for a coupe-de-ville!.. :haha: :D

Best country truck song, sung by some good ol canadian boys

Corb Lund Band - Truck Got Stuck

    the chorus is

"The Chev got stuck and the Ford got stuck
But the Chev unstuck when the Dodge showed up
But the Dodge got stuck in the tractor rut,
Which eventually pulled out the Ford
    With some difficulty"

Good bands to check out are American Head Charge, Mushroom Head, Nonpoint, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage... I could go on, metal rules...

    :doah:

every friday night,I can be found--In the bed of my truck in an old chaise lounge. backed in to my spot at the drive in show. ya know a cargo light gives off a romantic glow.

well i got my first truck when i was 3
drove 100,000 mile on my knees
    hauled marbles and rocks
    and thought twice before
i hauled a barbie doll bed
    for the girl next door
she tried to pay me with a kiss
    then i began to understand
there's somethin women like about a pickup man

how about John Michael Montgomery's "Four Wheel Drive"
    Trace Adkins' "Chrome"
    Trace Adkins' "Rough And Ready"
    Toby Keith's "Big Ol Truck"
Brad Paisley's "Mud on the tires"
    Chris LeDoux's "Horsepower"
    Aaron Tippin's "Big Boy Toys"
    Chris Cagle's "Chicks Dig It"
Kenny Chesney's "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" (i have alternate lyrics for this one -She Thinks My Pickup's Sexy, or She Thinks My Wagon's Sexy/Derby Version)
    Montgomery Gentry's "Hell Yeah"
Tim McGraw's "Down On The Farm"

that's just what i've got on my computer, not including what i've got on CDs

    for non-country...

    Drowning Pool "Bodies"
Cypress Hill "Insane in the Membrane"
    Marilyn Manson "The Beautiful People"
Metallica "Fuel" "I Disappear" and several others
    Mudvayne "Dig"
    Rammstein "Du Hast"
    almost anything by Rob Zombie

although, while actually wheeling, i like to listen to "350 Cubes" by the Small Blocks.

when derby time comes around i listen to "Back In Black" right before the derby, get into my own little zone. strap the helmet on, fire the ride up, and literally walk every inch of it. jumping up and down on it, bouncing the suspension. gives me an idea of how it's going to react in the pit, and intiidates the hell out of the competition. :D

    For some non-traditional country try
    Cross Canadian ragweed www.crosscanadianragweed.com
    Mike McClure band www.mikemcclureband.com
his everything upside down cd rocks and it has a peterbilt song in it (moon is almost full tonight)
    Houston Marchman www.houstonmarchman.com
he does several songs that have trucks or trucking themes in them. I would suggest either the "Desperate Man" or "Live Contraband" cd's
    Reckless Kelly www.recklesskelly.com
Lots to chose from but "Wicked Twisted Road" is good and "Under the table and above the sun" really shines.
    Thats a start
