turbo 350?????

    Hey HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!Have an easy ?If you could rebiuld a turbo 350 for your truck what specifically would you have done?Im about to have mine done plan on doing some light wheelin and towing.Has 33's with stock gearing now I know i need more money for upgrades but motor is done 327,carb,little cam 208,218 duration,duals.Any ideas!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif1977

    strong torque convertor, bm stage 1 shift kit, huge cooler..

    One common weak point is the sprag. An HD sprag would be good, especially for high power applications like built 454s. Probably not needed with the 327 because there will likely not be enough torque to hurt the sprag.

    yeah, I would change out the sprag. Both 350's and early 700R4's use the same rear sprag and it is a weak link. You might be able to use a later model 700R4 sprag, my 700 has the bigger sprag from a 4l60.

    On my TH400 which I just had completly overhauled, I upgraded with A heavy Duty 32 point sprag and Drum. the tranny has a stage 1 kit installed, I will see If I want to go to a stage 2.

    I also purchased a 1800RPM stall Allison 500 HD series torque converter.

    in that case then 87-up 700r4 sprag would work for th350 then, 87 was the year they made the changes to 700r4

    theres all kinds of things you can getfor and do to a th350, theres two different shift kits and all kinds of converters, kevlar bands and other parts, etc etc.
