I'm about to throw in the towel on my "beefed up" 700r. Questions, will the T400 fit? Can I use my NP 241? Will the OD colum shifter and indicator work with a 3 speed vs my 4spd OD? Is there a 4x4 T400 vs a 2wd T400? Thanks

Yes, the TH-400 will fit, I just did it. There is a difference between 4x4 and 2x4. The 400 for the 241 has the long output shaft, but this will not fit your 241, spline counts are different. The easiest way is to just fins a 400/241 combo to put in, they are around, I picked up one a few months ago. I'm just guessing, but I think your shifter will work fine, just OD will be D, D will be 2 and 2 will be 1.

I did this abotu a year ago after fighting with the 700r4 through 6 rebuilds!!! Anyway, you can also just change the input geat in your 241 to a 32 spline. I paid $140 for a new input geat from Parts Mike. Also, you need the adapter for between the 400 and 241. Good luck.
