Would it be right by the throttle linkage?

driver side of the carb there is the throttle linkage in the front there is a set screw to set the idle. The linkage touches it when you are at idle loosen the screw up to turn it down

    <font color=red>Let me at it I can break it</font color=red>

the throttle is sitting normally at idle, isnt there a scre you turn to edit idle speed?

much apreciated hammer, sorry im just tired i guess, i suppoes the best way to change that would be to let it run and slowly turn it down, what would you recomend as a good range when out of gear?

700-800 rpm if you don't have a tach try putting it in gear with the engine running and as long as it don't stall just go by sound. Then take it out and drive it if it is to high it might idle at 35 mph on city streets and you have to hit the brakes to stay at 30 then turn it down more. most of the time I go by feel by driving around

Hey, go to Edelbrock.com and download the owner's manual for your carb. It's in .pdf format. Has everything in it that you get in the box when you buy it new.
