I could've sworn the last time I looked at the purchase sticker for my grandfather's 1992 K2500 it said it had a 4L80-E...But the other day I looked at the engine and it had what look to be a TV cable that is the same as on my old 700r4...Is this cable a TV cable or does it serve a similar purpose as the th400's kickdown cable?

I would have to think that if its a 4L80E that late, the TPS would be used for "kickdown". No reason to use a mech cable on an electronic tranny, I thought that was the point! : )

I'm thinking the truck has a 4L60 then??
Maybe a typo? Check the RPO codes (glove box, right?) and look for the codes starting with "M". 80's GM vehicles RPO tranny codes started with M, so I would imagine a '92 would as well.

A 4-L80E will not have any kind of kickdown cable. It is all controlled by electronics. ( ECM, PCM, TCM)

Just the 4L60. The same thing as a 700R4. The 4L80, IIRC never has had anything but electronics.
