Am looking to change from gas to a 6.2 Diesel in my 1/2 ton 79' manual shortbed. At present there are the twin gas tanks, is it a real pain to locate and plumb in the correct changeover valve for the diesel or would I be better of fitting a single rear tank from a Blazer or Suburban. Anyone know a source of the Diesel changeover valve and switch, is it scarily priced ?

Let me get this straight - you already have dual tanks on your truck, which means you already have a diverter wired in. Now you want to swap in a diesel engine.

I can't say for sure, but I believe that the same switch/valve setup is used regardless of the fuel type. Your present diverter valve and switch should work fine with your new 6.2.
