I am running ORD crossover steering on my 79 K10 with 8" of lift and 44" swampers. My 2wd steering box came off of a 72 C10. It appears that I twisted the splines between the pitman arm ant the box. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it dangerous? TIA.

Thanks, I take that as a compliment. I'm gonna run it until it becomes problematic. I'm surprised no one else has had this occur.

I will be a problem when it snaps off!
Replace it ASAP, consider it a safety hazarad. I have seen them twisted right off, splines stripped out and balls blown out of the rack/worm assmebly.
I know the threads are heat treated and I believe the splines are as well, so if it is twisted it is cracked as well.
