Out of the ordinary do we find that our muffler tips at the end is shooting straight up the blazer's butt.
Can anybody tell me what is the cause of this missfortune?
I drove my blazer home one day and all I could smell is the fumes from my exhaust which made me weary to sleep.
    That wasn't so healthy.
I just need to know how to fix this problem.
    Thanks...
    Michael

The exhaust usually comes in through the open rear window, it's not a Blazer only problem, the easy way to fix it is to keep your rear window up. Also check your weatherstripping.

One way to keep the fumes out of the cab is to get an OEM wing for the topper.
You can get them from the dealer for around $90 even cheaper at a boneyard.
They force air down the back of the truck, where there is usually a vaccum that
draws air into the cab. Personally, I don't love the way they look, I kept mine b/c
of the fumes, also they keep the rear window clean.

I just added an "Aerowing" from GTS on the ole gal and it works great, not only does it keep the rear window clean, it also blows the exhaust the other way...

Wouldn't it be great if someone produced a transparent wing like that? That way you wouldn't even notice it was there and still do the job.

    Ahh guys?
I think you under estimated my question.
What I meant was that the tail pipe on one side of my duals in aiming straight into the body of the undercarraige of the blazer.
I've seen this happen to other blazers, but never could understand it, some of these tailpipes were actually touching the body of the vehicle.
I just need to know how to fix it, or what? I just put my foot on it and stand up until the tailpipe falls to it's natural height.
That doesn't sound like a good idea, might screw it up some more.
    Any answers to this question?
    Sorry for the inconvience....

If it's clamped together, then just loosen up the clamps and try to readjust it. If it's a welded system, then it's probably a job for the muffler shop(maybe an excuse for a new high performance exhaust).

Web site for the Aerowing? Pics of one installed? Can they be painted to match so that they blend in?

This site is where you can get info on the aerowing. Everyone I have seen came as smoke color...like the bugshield and window visors. I would imagine that the wing could be painted, but my top is black and the smoke looks good....I got mine at Murrays...but almost and parts store can order it for you, mine was 47.50....good luck...

I UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION BECAUSE MINE DO IT TOO. eITHER YOUR MUFFLERS HAVE BROKEN OR THEY WERE JUST CLAMPED TOGETHER AND HAVE COME LOOSE LIKE MINE. JUST GO TO THE MUFFLER SHOP AND TELL THEM TO REINFORCE THEM...WELD THE MUFFLER TO THE EXIT PIPE AND MAYBE ADD MORE STRAPS. EVERY DAY OR SO I GO OUT AND KICK MINRE BACK DOWN WITH MY BOOT. GOOD LUCK

I've had good luck just drilling a very small hole through both the pipe and the muffler, just under where the clamp is mounted. Then insert a small sheet metal screw into the hole. It will keep the two parts from twisting. [IMG]
