I know there are lots of guys here on ck5 from Texas, and I just want to let ya'll know if you don't already about TMTC . Their site is http://www.texasmotorizedtrails.com/index.html . They have a forum over there which is not very active and I think it would be cool if we could get more involved. The only OHV area they have so far is Barnwell Mountain Rec Area in NE Texas, but it is a huge place with alot of people involved. Some members on here near the DFW area have been talking about getting a club together for runs, and I think it would be cool to similar groups all over texas. Right now the only club near me is through Texas A & M and although I am a student, and they have a great club, I think there should be one for everybody in Texas with subgroups in the different areas. That way we could get together for small runs or rally for a big one once or twice a year. The disney trip is really looking like it is going to be a great place to meet people, but I am sure there are good places all over Texas waiting to be wheeled.

I'm gonna check it out. NONE of my friends are into building trucks, so I am all alone here w/no club or 4 wheeling friends. I'm building my rig so that I can go up north and wheel unless I can meet some people around here. No mountains in this area. I hear some places in Mexico near the border are pretty good.

Hey, Omar and Ric, thanks for the invite. I'm from McAllen, which is about 3 1/2 hrs south of San Antonio. You can bet I'll be giving you guys a call as soon as I get my rig a little more trail worthy. How are the trails in San Antonio, Ric? I go up every once in a while for work. Maybe we can hook up when I'm there.

Armando,
There is one place here in S.A. where we can wheel. The place is called The Den. It has a little of everything, hills, mud, rock, you name it. We usually make a run down to Uvalde and wheel the Nueces River about once a month. So just Let me know when you're ready.

You use to be able to add a pic under your user name awhile back. When you go to Your Profile on the old board there use to be a place to add it, but it's not there anymore with this new setup. I can't even delete or change that eye anymore, so it'll be there staring at you until we get that feature back. Hope that helps.

As far as I know The land owner doesn't mind if you wheel there he just doesn't want any dumping of trash in the area. This place has been around for years and I haven't heard of any problems, so it remains open.

I"m looking for the directions I have so I could post them correctly. When I find them I'll post them.

Couldn't find the directions, but this will get you there.
From Austin take 35 south till you hit Loop 410 in San Antonio. Take 410 west till you come to Ingram.Take Ingram west, past the mall. At the second light, take a left. Then take another left at the first stop sign. There should be some apartments on your right and at the end of the coldesac there is an entrance. There are many enterances to this place, but this one is probably the best way in and out.

Cool, man. I'll send you a private message. How easy/difficult are the trails? Can a stock rig make it through? I hear about the Den every time I go to the 4WPW up there.

This place has something for just about any rig. Stock or built, you see all kinds in there. Just watch out for the dirt bike riders they can pop out of nowhere.

too bad it is in NE, i'm in Houston and that tends to be a little far to go, especially since i am still mostly stock and can't do any real serious wheeling besides a little mudslinging here and there.

K5 just upgraded to rig status! [IMG]
