U-bolt question - need response asap!!!

    does anyone know the specs on ubolts for a 14 bolt FF and a D60? they both have 456 gears and were out of forest service trucks. any help would be appreciated.

    this is really an application specific question. I believe the u bolt inner diameter needs to be 3.5 inches for te 14bolt, and usually of 5/8ths stock I believe. Length depends on the suspension. As long as the bolts are long enough to clear spring pack and (possibly) block, you'll be fine. In my case it took some 10 inch long bolts. I;m not sure on the D60 though.

    14 bolt tube diameter is 3 3/8" not 3 1/2"...

    Not sure on the size for the 60 and I just finished bolting mine in a couple of hours ago.[​IMG] I can tell you the 60 uses 2 u bolts on the driver side that are the same and on the pass side it has 1 u bolt that is a different size then the driver side and then it will have 2 studs with nuts on the inside of the passenger side which can be replaced with bolts instead. BTW I got my u-bolt kit from ORD which included the 2 bolts.

    I 2nd that, my 14 SF was also 3 3/8".
