u bolt torque settings

    does any one know the rec. stock torque settings for u-bolts.

    I thought it was around 120 Lb/Ft.....?

    I remember mine were up around 150 Lb/Ft and someone reminded me that I was probably overdoing it.

    Someone else will chime in with the correct answer, or you can search the '73-91 Forum.... I know it's been answered there 100 times! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    thanks, i thought it was around 130-135 but i couldn't remember for sure.

    I'm pretty sure that my manual called for 140 lb/ft. I torqued mine to 120 lb/ft like Greg. Anymore and I think the plate would start to warp. Just my unsubstantiated opinion.
