u-joint ?

    Which do you guys prefer, u-joints with or without grease zerks? It seems like the zerks would be a weak point wouldn't it? Thanks for your opinions.

    U-joints with zerks will sometimes let go before the gears, drive shafts,and axles do so that you can fix a u-joint in less time then a axle shaft or getting a new drive shaft. If you want zerks you can get better u-joints(stronger) with them but not from the local auto store mail order or on the web... My 2c

    When you use u-joints with zerks it also matters how you install them. You need to install them so that the area with the hole for the zerk is in compression. The cast Iron that they are made from is stronger in compression than tension.
