My '88 K5 is in near mint shape paint and body wise. I would like the frame and suspension components to look just as nice. I'm looking for something that I can brush on the inner fenders, axles, etc. that is flat black and will help prevent rust. Has anyone tried the POR15? Any other suggestions?

Very good luck with POR 15. No complaints. Painted some of the frame and inner fenders and quarters. Holds up real good. Make sure you surface prep properly though!

I was thinking of POR15 on my truck, but that stuff is expensive!!! I just went down to Wal-Mart and bought a gallon of Rust-Oleum semi-gloss black. Painted the whole frame and some of the underbody. The body has rusted out several times since, but just spray a jet of water on the underbody and it shines like new.
