*UPDATE* Attn: Cali people -- finder\'s fee

Ok... I've been looking for a bed for my pickup (77 K10) for about a year now and have had absolutely no luck at all in finding one in decent shape. I called about 10 wrecking yards in the Sac area this morning and still no luck

Anything from 73-87 will do, but 73-77 would be preferred.
Shortbox
Fleetside
Dual tanks
I don't need a tailgate or lights

I'm not too concerned with dings or small dents, but rust is a no-no. I'd be willing to travel within a 300 mile radius of Hollister, CA.

I figured I'd offer a finder's fee in the hopes that maybe someone out there would keep their eyes extra peeled for me. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

$50 if I buy it!

Thanks!

Well Cheryle, I've still been looking here, and still no luck. All I can find are trucks with the beds still attached for sell but there pricey. I've been driving by the wrecking yards every other day to see if they have gotten anything. Still nothing /forums/images/icons/frown.gif .

Ask around on the PBB (http://www.pirate4x4.com) and see what they have... I'm willing to bet you'll come up with something there. Also look up a group called River City Rock Crawlers... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

BTW what junk yards did you call? There's tons and tons here... maybe I can call around to some for you as well?

Call Three Boys Auto Wrecking in Madera, they should have something. Sorry I don't know the number. The rest of the places in the area you have to go pickin' around to find anything /forums/images/icons/frown.gif they never know what the have. /forums/images/icons/ooo.gif

Try Henrick at GM Truck Center in Burbank. If he doesn't have anything now, he may run across one soon. He has, or had, lots of parts. Specializes in 73-91 Chevy trucks. They have a website, with phone number. gmtruckcenter Tell him Pam asked you to call.

Thanks for keepin' your eyes open. I went to look at one over the weekend.... The guy said it didn't have any rust, but when I went to look at it, it had body rot galore! I guess he didn't consider that rust /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

If you plan on cutting your fenders, I have a bed that's in kinda good shape. No that's a lie. It's a little fawked up in the front by the cab. I don't believe it's rusted out anywhere, but it would take a little to get it back straight. If interested, I can send you a few pics.

The bed is cut around the fenders & has flares installed.

Did you get the pics?
What do you think of the bed?
I know there is some damage, but it's a really good price.

Re: Attn: Cali people -- finder\'s fee

I know this sounds crazy, but I would rather give something away than sell it. I have it sitting here & I'm not gonna use it, so why not give it to someone who can use it.

So for the price of pulling it off my truck, it's yours. PM me if interested. I usually don't check the garage, but just stumbled in here out of boredom.

Mike
