for my turtle, his shell is just about 8 inches long, i got it from my girlfriends mom not too long ago and i figured it could use a bigger tank. i think this is 60 gallon tank coming from a 20 gallon, i put the old tank next to it for an idea. this week i think im going to find some flat rocks that are probibly going to be flagstone and set up a basking area on the right and get the reptile bulbs for the new fixture and put that on, im going to try to squeeze some plants between the flagstone and the front glass, i figure it will look pretty good.

any body else have a semi-aquatic turtle setup?

Yup. What we use for a basking area is a floating log and one of those floating islands. She seems to like it alot. We have a 55 gallon tank but she has prolly only a four inch shell. Eats bunches and bunches of feeder fish for her size though.
