Well, I've searched and searched and I know that this has been covered before, but I can't find it.

Does anyone know the part number for the uppper rear shock mounting bolt? The cheesy little threads on the end of mine are ready to go and I need to replace 'em.

    Thanks,

if you go to Kragens, there are parts called "HELP!" The boxes are all red and they are usually grouped together near the front of the store, or that is how it is here in NorCal. i think the PN is something like 10110 or something very simular.

You'll have to find it yourself, the parts people will have no idea.

If ya got a 4WD shop nearby, give them a call also. I called 4WPW awhile back and asked if they had some around. Went down a a few days later, told the guy what I wanted, manager was there too, he says, "we got a ****load of them." The guy went back, cam back later and gave me a couple of them. Asked him how much, let me have them for free. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Thanks, zakk. I thought I had seen some through HELP! b4, but haven't been able to find one. Good to know they do still exist. I'll just keep looking or maybe give my Chevy parts guy a try.

Yeah those bolts come with every shock I buy, all except the Rancho shocks /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
Back home I used to buy monroe, KYB, Wagner, AC delco, all of them had them and I still have a bunch of them, too bad they are on the other side of the globe now.
Here I only bought Rancho so no spares yet, but You should be able to find a shop that installs these quite often that will give them to you for free. At least if they are decent.

That's odd cause every Rancho shock I've bought has had the bolts.

    Weird!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Well I have already bought 8 shocks but none was for stock rear application, so maybe that is the reason they didn't have them. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Could be. All the ones I've bought have been for the rear, except for the steering stabilyzers and those had them also.

Thanks for the tip, B.R.! After trying Chevy parts (no luck there; they come with the shock), Pep Boys ("I think we used to carry them...") and Kragen (the computer shows one, but I can't find it), I took your advice and checked with my local 4x4 shop, Conejo Off Road.

Dave there says, yeah they come with the shocks. You didn't get them? Told him no, because I didn't get shocks made specifically for my vehicle (went with longer-travel RS9000X). He says, "Well, we've got a bucket in the back shop with probably 50 of 'em in there that came from Ranchos we've installed, so help yourself and Merry Christmas." I grabbed two packs and everything is good again. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yes, they do. That end of the bolt is a 5/8" fine thread.
