The Blazer started smoking about a month ago.I finally took it out to my shop and did a compression test on it.The cylinders were all right around 95p.s.i..This tells me that the rings are ok and I'm thinking it's the valve guide seals.Does this sound right?
It felt AWSOME to drive it again after letting it sit for a month.Had to learn how to drive it all over again.

I had the same problem..it would let out a puff of smoke when I would start it in the morning. I had to get my valve guides adjusted, it did not take long and It did not smoke afterwards. If it is a good mechanic I would have to say that is the problem..but the oil can get in around worn piston rings too, and other fun to get at places...
