van dually 14 bolt FF measurements i found out tonight

    measured on an '82 1 ton chassis-cab 12 foot dually cube van(CG31603) and got:

    50" spring pack to spring pack centers and 71" WMS to WMS

    Weird.... Should be a Dana 60 or 70 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    14-bolt in that wide track width didn't come until 92 or so.

    i cant explain it either, but the van is right here in my driveway im working on it, wish i had a digicam!

    anytihng else anyone want to know from the truck ?

    The rear end has probably been swapped... Vans are essentially the same from whenever they started until 96 - so it is possible.

    I bet the center section has reinforcing ribs all over it. The older ones were basically smooth.

    its one of those vans that the frame rails and body and everything was chopped off at just behind seats and an entire cube box was attached ot the van front third of body, it has no factory frame rails after behind the seats, has a one piece channel stamped steel body tub, is really wide, even says such on the SPID label under the hood, i cant see how any narrower of an axle could work under the truck, it just couldnt, you see these cube vans all the time riding around.

    This is a step van or cube van, they came with wider axles than regular vans.
