vent window rubber, did the search, no answers

Discussion in '1973-1991 K5 Blazer | Truck | Suburban' started by fireinthehole, Oct 5, 2003.

I bought new vent window rubber for my 89 Sub. I wrangle the drivers side out, and guess what??? The glass is riveted to the frame! Aint that a bitch? So has anyone replaced their gasket? I guess they want you to but the whole assembly, not just the weatherstrip. So I put it all back together. I am pissed! All I can figure is you have to drill out the rivets and replace them with the same or some tiny bolts.
A tip for anyone pulling that thing out- push the window back in the channel and it gives you more clearance to get the crazy shaped piece out.

I believe you can get rivets and a rivet setting tool from www.chevyduty.com. Hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
