    E = V-8 Gas
    S = Six Cylinder Gas

    GVW Range (3rd Digit)
    1 = 1/2 Ton

    year digit is not part of the model codes, IE CE109934 is actually CE10934

    and in 72 the VIN code received extra letter at beginning of the VIN, for conventional cab trucks they got an extra C at the beginning so a V8 blazer in 72 VIn begins with CKE or 6 cyl one CKS

    and the "4"th digit can also be a 3 which is a chassi cab, then there stake model and cowl windshield model, etc etc so forth and they each have a different digit

    and all these codes only apply to chevy btw, GMC has a whole different code system
