My blazer doesn't have "Truck" Plates. When should / should not something have truck plates?

Are the laws different for "Truck" and "Non-Truck".

I'm getting ready to make some mods, and would like to know what trouble is ahead at inspection time.

    Thanks,

The lift laws in Virginia are different depending upon what plates you have. Truck tags have their good points and their bad. Truck plates allow for and extra few inches of added bumper height depending upon the weight of the vehicle. Also, a vehicle registered with truck plates does not need emissions done upon it. The down side to these plates is that the vehicle is restricted upon certain roads. Some towns and city roads prohibit the running of trucks on them. Maybe in the country this doesn't matter, but Fairfax Country relies strict on these laws.
