When I fire up my truck, the temp guage seems to be working but then it will start to spin really fast. Im guessing this would be a ground problem, but I have never seen this before, so I thought I would ask what might cause this?

    Thanks.

Right around #3 cylinder is the sender for the gauge. Go and make sure it's not crispy-crittered on a header/manifold. You might want to trace the wire all the way to the back of the block. It follows the spark plug wires to the back of the block.

I had the same problem but it only did it when it was hot and I hit a large bump. It didn't do it when cold.
