would like to pick up a real cheap S10. Something that the body and frame are decent but the motor and trans are blown or similar. Thinking of starting work on an S10 trail rig with 1 tons.

Does it need to have a motor and trans?

My Brother has a 88' S10 blazer he wants to sell. Motor runs good (just needs a new battery), trans is ok, Interior is excellent, but most importantly body is 100% perfect. No rust anywhere I can see. (maybe some surface rust lightly in the fender lips...
Oh, and 4 brand new 31" BFG all terrains.

Anyhow, he got a new car a while back and has been busy with school and work, so he never put it for sale. If I talk to him, I can probably talk him into let it go for like $1200 or so.
I'm sure that may be out of your price range, but if you have time you can part it out for good money. You could probably get $400 for the tires alone.
Let me know if you are interested and I can get some good detailed pics for you.

thanks but no thanks, looking for a cheaper beater type truck, would feel bad taking something semi decent of the road. I know right where one or two sit in junkyards I could get for pennies likely, should go look into them. I don't have much in the way of money right now since I'm still building the K5, and if I take on this project it won't be till like late summer or next winter and I'd sell the K5 first.

Found an older S10 Blazer 2 door for $400 as is. Might even be able to haggle it down some.
