Hey I just found out my /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif has 3.08's and not 3.73's /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif,sooooooo..... good reason to put lower gears in. I would like a set of 4.10's or 4.56's. If anyone has a set let me know, I would prefer not to pay the price for new ones. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I need set for a 10 bolt front and a 12 bolt rear. I think these will work on my stock carrier, but can't remember so if you have any light to shed on the subject feel free.

I believe that since you have 3.08's, that the only way you can go with 4.10's or 4.56's without changing the carrier is to go with thick gears, other wise you'll need to change the carrier also /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Might end up cheaper going to some 3/4 tons with 4.10s. Depends if you can install gears yourself or not. God knows I couldn't.

wont find any 1/2 ton xles factory with 4.10 or deeper, be lucky t find anything 3.73, especially after 72. 2.73, 2.76, and 3.08 are what oull find pretyt much under anything 1/2 ton, i think youll be looking at finding 3/4 ton axles to get your deeper ratio you want

This isnt all true. Actually, my brother's 79 when he bought it came with the original sales broshure, and it listed 4:10 to be standard and everything else as an option. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
