    prefer detroits
I think I have a line on 3.54s but they are both open difs and the rear is 32 spline, so really only the gears are usefull in that deal
I have 4.88s w powerlok front, and 35spline detroit rear so swaps may be worked out.

Keep looking, you might be able to find some with 3.08s.

You making a run to the Bonneville Salt Flats? Or, changing from a driveway cruiser to a Highway cruiser? Just curious.

Oh, here are the smileys and stuff making this just a joke.

were those available for 60 and 70 or just the 61 series?
I have heard of them in some early diesel Dodges.
would be near the perfect gear ratio for what I am thinking

It was probably called the '61 model, I didn't crawl under the truck to look at the diff. I ran into a fella with a really nice Dodge Ram a few years back. Had 8" spring lift, new 40" hawgs on 16.5x14 weld wheels, 60 front, 70 rear and paid shops to have all the work done so a lot of $$$ involved. Well anyway, he picked up the axles from a salvage yard and they turned out to have 3.07/3.08 gears in them, so in went 4.88s with detroits for some more$$$$$. Atleast it was in excellent shape and not a rust bucket.

How about running two SM 465's Neil... /forums/images/icons/cool.gif I guess it would be a quadrupler /forums/images/icons/grin.gif The idea is to run it in 4th (first tranny) and third (second tranny) for cruise RPM. 264:1 crawl with 3.08's. Cruise RPM would be 2900 @ 65 in 4/3, and 1700 RPM in 4/4...
