It's either 5/16 or 3/8. The bolt hole pattern is 10"X4.5" on center.

    wow really? That's crazy small...out of those 2, I'd hope it's 3/8".

Yeah, thats what I thought too. I don't have one myself, but a bud just put a HS9500I on his J**P. What we did is drill out the holes to except a 1/2 bolt.
Hey, if your designing abumper, check out the link below. I just finished the one in the pics today. Gonna get powder coated tommorrow. Maybe it'll give ya some ideas.

Man that's a pretty heavy duty bumper. I like it but not the route I plan on going. Maybe on my tow rig though!!! Good work, and your welds look top notch.

I like that about drilling those holes. That's probably what I'll do too. I dont actaully have a winch right now, but I want to design this bumper so that when I do get one, it's a bolt down and wire sort of thing. Hate doing stuff twice. I just didn't know what sort of material it was on the winch base. You say it drilled out fine and still had plenty of beef around the edges?

Warn winches use grade 5, 3/8" mounting bolts.

Yep. No probs. If ya think about it, the hole is probably just a fraction larger than 3/8". Runnin a 1/2" bit through the hole would only remove at the most 1/16" of material from the edge of the hole. Nothin to worry about.
