    There was a similar trim option, but I can't remember what they called it.

    No, it's just above the door handles. Just says "Custom". The option is Z84 Custom Sport Truck.

    CST amd Custom are two separate options, CST is better.
    Z62= Custom and/or Custom Deluxe
    Z84= CST and/or Cheyenne equipment
    My 72 has CST and CST plates are on doors, and were on fenders, and glovebox too I think.
    Z84 on the glovebox door is listed as Cheyenne equip

    Wasn't there a "Highlander " option? Or was that just interior?

    My JIMMY is a CUSTOM. It has the GMC CUSTOM on the glove box door, indash tach, wood grain inserts on the door panals, scroll detail on the seat upholstery and the rear side panals, inside hood lock, hand throttle, two dome light front and rear in the top, CUSTOM in script above each outside door handle, GMC JIMMY on the lower rear of the front fenders, wood grain side molding, wood grain tailgate trim and chrome surround on the front grill. Factory air and a transmission cooler. What else would a Chevy CST have?

    I once saw a jimmy that had the CST plates on the doors, it also had plates on the rear tailgate and glove box that read "Custom Special Trailering". So I am not sure that CST it's the same at GMC. To tell you the truth, it's one of the very few Jimmy's I have seen that were 69-72, so it's hard for me to tell. This one was equipped very much like a Chevy CST, but it also had the HD suspension, trailer hitch and a transmission cooler ... consistent with a trailering package. Anyone else seen this before?

    The hood lock is a cable with a chrome T-shaped handle (that matches the throttle handle) mounted in the upper left hand corner of the dash. It is connected to a deadbolt, that when pushed in, prevents the hood latch safety from pivoting. This locks the hood.

    JIMMY72custom I think has it right... What he describes is what a Blazer CST would be. I was thinking that the name was "Custom," but I was also thinking I might be wrong because CST means Custom Sport Truck...

    Only the Cheyenne Supers had woodgrain, at least on Chevy models. Unless your woodgrain is only on doors, and not on the dash too, like only the Supers had ?

    Highlander was a late '72-only sales pitch to help sell off the remaining stock.
    Cloth seats is all it was, available with Z62 Custom Deluxe.
