Wasn\'t someone here looking for an El Camino?

I have seen 2 for sale in Hollister in the past 2 weeks.

One is by my house - '69 - non-SS variety. Body looks good, but needs paint. $2500

There is another down the road some that appears to be of the SS variety (red w/white stripes up the hood), not sure of the year cause I haven't stopped to take a closer look. Sign says "Runs -- $1450"

I could get more info if anyone was interested. Seemed like a a couple of good deals to me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My first car was a '73 -- I think that was the first year of the ugly body style /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I have no idea what my parents were thinking buying a 16 year old a V8, but I wasn't complaining. Man, I loved that car! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got a 69 and a 72. There is a lot more plastic on the '71. I wish there wasnt.

one big problem with the 69 and a few other years...on the passenger side if leaves or what ever get cloged up in the drains for the ac vent thing under the hood....it would fill up with water and leak into the inside...i never could get that thing uncloged...during the winter...the passenger side carpet was always wet...

Re: Wasn\'t someone here looking for an El Camino?

When I tore apart my '71 to redo it, I found all kinds of leaves and stuff stuck down in there. It took awhile to clean them out. Before I reassemble it all, I plan on sealing up all the metal in there.
