I went up a new trail on Friday w/ my 84 k5. It has a stock 305 and stock cooling system. The trail was steep, so I had to stay on the throttle to keep momentum. It was really rocky so the k5 was bouncing around a lot. When I got to the top I got out to strech and noticed the top of the pumpkin and the passenger side spring were wet. I walked around to the passenger side and you could see some water had been thrown up on the fender by the tire. I looked under the hood, but it was getting dark and I couldn't really tell where it was leaking. Saterday I checked everything, and they all seam to be tight, hoses aren't cracked etc. Is it normal to lose a little fluid when bouncing around offroad? The thing never leaked before, and it hasn't since. Is there something I could do to keep fluid from leaking when offroading? Thanks.

You might have a hairline crack in the overflow. Mine would do this on occasions but not all the time. If it is not cracked it just might be bouncing enough to get it out around the cap somehow.

If you really start bouncing around, the coolant in the overflow jug will splash out of the vented cap. Just keep a close eye on it to make sure that you know for certain where it's leaking from.
