I think he did a nice job on it personally. The only thing I didn't like was the headliner.

I agree, too. Most people don't realize that time is money and when someone takes the time to completely go thru and replace everything, the time to do it and the price of the parts really do add up. I can see why he asking that price since it really does make sense, but most people don't see it that way. They just look at the year and "shiny-ness" of the paint and then judge on whether the guy must be a "frickin nut case" or "fruitloop" for asking that much.

The thing to think about: if anybody else on this site did a COMPLETE frame off rebuild and replaced everything for new parts, they would ask for high prices, too, right?

    Not necessarily.

Think about the old muscle cars when they get restored. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Take a '70 Hemi-Cuda, for example. Someone can find one for $10,000 and restore it completely, and then it would be worth $100,000 and someone else would still buy the thing.

It's all about "sentimental value" and what something is valued to another person.

You see the show trucks on the curcuit are having over $25,000 put into them just to be trailer queens. And yes, there are some people out there who will buy them or not.

These people who buy stuff like this consider these vehicles to be investments.

I look at it this way...for $15,000 I could get a botom of the line '02 model shitbox. Or I could buy a K5 that has been restored from the ground up. Which do you think would last longer? Which would be more enjoyable to own? I'd bet that Blazer would go many many years before needing any work...

Just my two cents...I think it's not a bad value. I don't doubt he has much more than $15,000 in parts alone...

No, I will buy it for that much!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I was making a statement there. I know the 'Cudas go for more than that.

I just heard here in town that someone not far from here bought a '70 Hemi Cuda, complete, numbers matching, for $25,000!!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif And yeah, it still needed restoration too!!
